My Story
I’ve always been an artist…
It all started when I was two years old and my parents built their brand new home. My mother always told me if we left the window open a draft would come in, but what my limited vocabulary and over-active imagination heard was, if the window was open a giraffe would come in. Many hot summer nights I lay awake watching for the giraffe. When I wasn’t watching for the giraffe, I was busy drawing him all around my nightlight. Rather than punish me, and ultimately lose a lot of sleep, my parents chose to leave my walls bare plaster until I was old enough to understand that I was to work on paper, not plaster. I guess this was the beginning of my tendency to make art in unconventional ways.
I’m always looking for a new place to make art, a new place right around my house that is! I’ve had a painting and glass studio on my deck, (the secret garden) a studio in my basement (white dungeon studio) and I currently have one in my attic (Sky high studio). Sometimes I simply work at my kitchen table, drawing and painting, and collaging. Cosmic Timber has found a home in my old ivy-covered garage.

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
